On the night before he leaves for college, Braden Hall encounters his mother in a familiar state of drunken agitation. Determined to safeguard his younger brother, Braden takes him out for a final night of bonding and guidance. Together, they embark on an adventure in the city, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Story
Growing up with a drunk mother can be a challenging experience.
Through this film, I wanted to explore the intimate relationship between 2 brothers facing a family crisis and give them a voice.
By telling their story, I wanted to understand how they would face such difficult circumstances and how they would develop a support system to survive.
I wanted to know how they would cope with the disruption in their family life, how they would deal with the feelings of insecurity, and how they ultimately would move forward.
While tackling the unsavory truths of a hard life, this film delivers a story of faith but never makes it appear preachy or overly romanticized. It stays real and still manages to end on a note of hope
